1 August 2017: BOW COUPLING

Our client a Dutch dredging contractor, was on an URGENT base in the need of new Bow Coupling system. Since the renowned makers are having lead through times which didn’t meet the project schedule, RR Maritime Engineering has been requested to design a custom Bow Coupling.

The complete design package (basic design, construction drawings and strength analyses) has been finalized ready for production on very limited time, where after a construction company pre-fabricated and installed the system onboard.

 
 
1 July 2017: SEA FASTENING DESIGN WALK TO WORK SYSTEM ONBOARD OFFSHORE WIND SUPPORT VESSEL

 

For an ongoing project of our client we provided a complete design package (basic design, Class Approval and assistance during mobilization) on short notice for installation of a Walk to Work system (Ampelman E-type) on a Multi Purpose Offshore Vessel.

 

In addition, a dedicated deck arrangement has been engineered to accommodate all the project equipment needed.

31 August 2016: Conversion cement carrier

An existing cement carrier has been converted with an extra transversal- and a swash-bulkhead in order to make here suitable for the transport of fly ash cargo.

 

RRME, did the complete design works for the construction, stability and updating of stability programs.

1 June 2016: Ballast Water Treatment, feasibility study

On behalf of a ship management company RRME performed a pre-study into the application of a Ballast Water Treatment unit onboard a series of 35,000 DWT handysize Bulk Carriers (SEAHORSE-35).

 

Anticipating on the upcoming Regulations regarding the control and management of ballast water and sediments, the manager is considering to install a ballast water treatment (BWT) plant on board of these vessels. 

 

RR Maritime Engineering was asked to do a study to the technical & commercial consequences for the installation of these systems.

 

Resulting in a report with recommendations indicating the advantages and disadvantages of several systems available on the market.

2 May 2016: 3D scan and engineering for a scrubber retrofit

On behalf of the owner and a scrubber manufacturer, R.R. Maritime Engineering made the complete design for a Scrubber retrofit project (including 3D scan).

1 April 2016: Offshore Wind, concept design study

On behalf of an Offshore wind contractors, R.R. Maritime Engineering was asked to perform a study to increase the crew capacity onboard.

 

The installation support vessel is having a “Special Purpose Ship” notation, which has a capacity of 60 persons on board (crew and special personal).

 

The contractor likes to increase the capacity of the ship with another 8 persons in 4 double cabins.

 

RR Maritime Engineering made the concept design for this purpose and to list the consequences (technical, rules & regulations and commercial) of this extension.

1 June 2014: New light ship weigth determination for tanker

RRME studied the light ship weight documentation of an existing vessel, finally resulting in a new inclining experiment and new intact and damage stability files.
